Santa Claus 🎅 made a special appearance with the children of the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre this morning, bearing gifts 🎁 for each of them. Archbishop Suheil and Bishop Hosam joined the staff in welcoming Father Christmas, whose arrival brought cheers of joy from the children and their families, offering a much-needed lift after such a difficult year. May the joy of Christmas give us all this same feeling of hope as we approach the coming New Year!

Archbishop Suheil and Bishop Hosam welcomed to St. George's Cathedral the new Propst of Jerusalem's Redeemer Church, Joachim Lenz, along with our close ecumenical partner Bishop Ibrahim Azar Barhum, Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land. At the meeting they discussed past relationships between our two churches, as well as ways we can deepen the Christian partnership between us in the future, especially after the pandemic ends. We give a warm welcome to Propst Joachim as he begins his ministry in Jerusalem, and we look forward to working closely with him during his service here over these next six years!

Archbishop Suheil, Bishop Hosam, and Director Ibrahim Faltas welcomed the Honorable Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff, the newly appointed Representative of the European Union, to the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre on the Mount of Olives. There, he received a tour of the Centre's state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities that annually serve more than 1,300 children with disabilities, including 173 students (38%) who are also part of the attached Inclusive School. Afterwards, the group discussed the many funding challenges facing the Centre because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, which has led to a shortfall of charitable contributions that normally comprise about 30% of JPBC's budget. Please keep the Centre's ministry in your prayers and also consider making a personal or institutional donation in support their crucial work with these needy children and their families!
