First Arab Bishop: Najib A. Cubain – Bishop of Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, but did not have any jurisdiction over the See of Jerusalem. However, his offices were at St. George’s Cathedral and he had jurisdiction over Jordanian controlled East Jerusalem.

Tenth Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem - Robert Stopford, served as Vicar General (1974 – 1976)

Between 1974 – 1976, under the supervision of the Vicar General, Robert Stopford, the Archbishopric was completely restructured. The Diocese of Jerusalem was established to include Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon and Syria, with Jerusalem as its centre, as part of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East. The four dioceses rotated the responsibility of the Bishop President and Synodical Leadership.
