In response to concerns about the future of children in Israel and Palestine, especially in light of the escalation of tensions between the two communities in the Holy Land, our diocese has set in motion a "Kids4Peace" special programme, with a specific focus on "education for peace."
This programme includes meetings between Israeli and Palestinian families from both sides of the cultural and political divide. Children aged 10-12, from Jewish, Christian and Muslim families, are introduced to each other, and engaged in fun and artistic activities. 'Kids4 Peace' is non-denominational, non-political, and non-partisan.
All participants – staff, families and children - share a commitment to peace, and a belief that an educational experience of tolerance and respect for cultural and religious diversity should begin with the very young.
