The Archbishop officially welcomed the Reverend Dr Hector Patmore as the Director of Studies at St George's College. Hector, together with his wife Lydia, and 4 year old son, Bertie, joined the Cathedral Close family in early January.

The Diocese of Jerusalem organized a leadership workshop for the Diocesan institutions on January 23rd -25th, 2017. The Directors and key staff members of the Diocesan institutions and Diocesan Office have actively participate at this workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss priorities, needs, challenges, sharing of experiences and best practices and to come up with common recommendations and suggestions for the Diocese office and institutions for future follow up.

The Diocese met together for the annual Majma (Diocesan Synod) in Amman, Jordan, on 15th and 16th November 2016. The meeting was opened by His Grace, The Most Reverend Suheil Dawani, Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem in which he reflected on the ministry of John-the-Baptist. The Archbishop asked that the Diocese reflected on John-the-Baptist for the forthcoming church year. Meditations during the synod were led by the Reverend Hanna Dalley, and the Most Reverend Michael Jackson, Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough. Among those present were many friends of the Diocese including Archbishop Michael, Catherine Chapman (representing the Diocese of Ottawa and the Right Reverend John Chapman), the Reverend Uwe Graebe of EMS, Endicott Peabody of the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, The Reverend Andrew Bowerman (Anglican Alliance), Mr Geoff Bowerman (father of Reverend Bowerman). The Reverend Lawrence Hilditch has resigned from the Anglican International School in Jerusalem and as such relinquished his canonry at St George’s Cathedral and his license at St George’s Cathedral and Christchurch. Please hold Lawrence and his family in your prayers

Students are from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles California with The Most Reverend Archbishop Suheil, Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem during their visit to St George’s Cathedral. The students were on a study tour entitled “Literature and Faith in the Holy Land: A Study Tour in Israel.” The Trip was led by Dr. Holli Levitsky together with Father Alexie Smith and Rabbi Mark Diamond.
